From there, we transition to the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway to avoid the coastal bottle-necks on QL1A. This route is preferred for its higher speed limits and lack of motorbike traffic. We use the Hai Van Tunnel to enter the Da Nang region quickly unless a scenic pass detour is requested.
Operational Reality October and November bring heavy seasonal rains that can cause minor pooling on QL1A near Dong Ha. Traffic congestion is most common in the late afternoon around the Da Nang bypass where industrial vehicles merge onto the main road. On weekends, the approach to Hoi An becomes busier with local weekend travellers from nearby cities.
Seasonal Notes The best travelling months are February to August when the weather is dry and visibility is high. November is the most challenging month due to high rainfall and potential localized flooding in the low-lying plains.
