After the expressway ends we transition to National Highway 1A for the remainder of the journey into Binh Dinh province. This combination provides the fastest travel time while maintaining access to coastal rest areas for breaks. We avoid the smaller provincial roads as they are often under repair or used by agricultural machinery.
Operational Reality Heavy transport trucks dominate National Highway 1A particularly on the stretches through Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh. Afternoon congestion often occurs near industrial zones in Tam Ky which can add thirty minutes to the trip. High winds and coastal rain during late October can cause minor debris on lower sections of the highway near the coast.
Seasonal Notes The driest and most reliable months for travel are March through August when road conditions are optimal. October and November often see heavy rain and potential delays due to water on the road in the low-lying Quang Ngai plains.
