Our Origins: Born from the Reality of the Road

The foundation for this service was laid in 2022 when our founder, David Dam —bringing years of local transport coordination and route logistics experience— began a multi-year initiative across 34 provinces to personally map thousands of kilometres of highways, coastal roads, and volatile alpine paths. By navigating mechanical breakdowns, flash weather disruptions, severe seasonal fog on high-stakes corridors like Hanoi to Sapa, and steep language barriers outside major cities, he gained a first-hand understanding of local travel risks.

Recognising that international travellers undertaking complex, multi-leg journeys across Vietnam were often forced to coordinate each transfer separately—through ride-hailing apps, hotels, or local agents—David began documenting the operational problems behind long-distance travel. In 2025, he founded Private Vietnam to replace fragmented transport arrangements with one professionally managed nationwide operation built on real highway experience.

Every booking is supervised at our headquarters under David Dam’s direct oversight. Instead of simply assigning a driver and leaving the rest to chance, our operations team actively coordinates every journey—tracking flights, monitoring highway conditions, and resolving issues before they affect your itinerary.

Regional Operations Managers

Operations is managed by specialised operators stationed across North, Central, and South Vietnam. These controllers maintain direct command over the network in their respective territories, ensuring instant bilingual communication and rapid on-the-ground support.

Region-Specific Driver Allocation

Vietnam’s mountain roads, coastal highways, and major cities each require different local experience. Whenever a route is primarily within one region, we assign drivers who regularly operate there and understand the area’s roads, weather, and driving conditions.
