Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat Timeline & Driver Insights

What passengers say about this route

Our driver navigated the winding roads of Bao Loc Pass with great care during our trip from Ho Chi Minh City. The change in temperature was noticeable as we climbed higher into the mountains. We stopped for coffee at a small roadside shop near Madagui which was a nice break. The car was clean but the air conditioning took a moment to adjust to the heat.

Returning from Da Lat to the city in an SUV was comfortable even with our large suitcases. We passed through many tea plantations and the driver pointed out the Mimosa Pass shortcut which had less traffic than the main road. The journey took slightly longer due to afternoon rain near Dong Nai. I noticed the road surface was bumpy in sections of Highway 20.

SUV · 2026-02

Travelling as a group of ten from Ho Chi Minh City, the van provided plenty of space for our luggage and hiking gear. We arrived at the Prenn Pass entrance just as the fog began to clear over the valley. The driver was very patient when we asked to stop for photos of the pine forests. The seat belts in the back were a bit stiff.

Clean car and safe driver. Just note that if you pay by credit card on the website there is an extra 5% processing fee, which adds up for a long trip like this. I ended up just doing a bank transfer instead to save money. Overall good service.
